INOVATION IN BUILDING CONSTRUCTION: UNIT CENTER GLEISDORF SETS STANDARDS IN PRECAST CONSTRUCTION

The seven-storey business complex towers prominently at the western entrance to Gleisdorf – the new Unit Center, which was literally brought to life in a very short space of time with the help of MABA expertise. What was particularly important to the developer WB Immobiliengesellschaft and the architect Meier? The shortest possible construction time and a rapid completion solution. MABA’s Ziegelit® walls were convincing compared to the competition and were therefore already involved in the planning phase.

The construction of the UNIT Tower stands for architectural brilliance and marks a milestone in the efficient use of precast construction in building construction. Built in record time, the project demonstrates how technological innovations optimize the construction process and meet the highest quality and environmental standards.

Technological masterpiece in record time

The complex building was erected within three days per floor, with the help of the MABA assembly team – a record-breaking timeframe made possible by the targeted application of technological innovations. The focus on a short construction time and a high degree of prefabrication reflects the success.

Focus on innovative components

MABA Fertigteilindustrie GmbH, a specialist for smart precast solutions in construction, not only supplied 2,300 m² of Ziegelit® precast walls with large-area elements and a height of up to 3.65 m, but also 22 Rotop® spun concrete columns and 13 straight precast stairs. These special walls, certified by the Austrian Institute for Building Biology & Ecology, not only offer a high specific heat storage capacity, but also a low specific water vapor diffusion resistance and impressive sound insulation.

In addition to the MABA elements, 180 square meters of double walls also contributed to the efficiency of the construction project. TIBA AUSTRIA contributed a further dimension to the construction project with 110 tons of civil engineering products, including manholes and well rings.
