With over 2,000 employees at almost 90 locations, the Kirchdorfer Group is an attractive and responsible employer. Our commitment to safety is a top priority, with particular attention paid to the three key aspects of work safety, information safety and product safety. Our focus on safety therefore not only reflects our responsibility towards our employees, but also our commitment to the highest quality standards in all our business areas.
Occupational safety
SAFE TOGETHER
Occupational safety is a very important and serious issue in every company. We also place the highest value on the health and well-being of our employees. Our occupational safety solutions are designed to prevent accidents and create a safe working environment in which our employees not only feel safe but also comfortable. From training and inspections to innovative safety measures and awareness-raising campaigns, we have been focusing for years on drawing attention to the importance of this issue.
Finally, 2022 marked the start of a comprehensive, company-wide campaign to introduce a sustainable safety culture at Kirchdorfer, which is directly and visibly anchored in our Group’s central set of values. We are proud that safety is not just a buzzword for us, but an integral part of our corporate culture:
We are LEO + S safe together!
“We want to do our best to ensure that our employees return home to their families in good health every evening. This also requires a corresponding awareness on the part of each individual“, says Erich Frommwald, Managing Director of the Group, summarizing the comprehensive safety measures. In addition to numerous campaigns to raise awareness, LEO+S also creates the framework for various safety workshops, training courses and the installation of safety-related services and corresponding infrastructure.
For a clear view – arrive safely!
By the end of 2023, screens will be installed at specific Kirchdorfer Group sites, primarily in production halls. This installation enables direct communication with employees and serves to convey and focus attention on important safety issues.
Summer sunshine – apply summer sunshine sunscreen!
In summer 2023, for example, there was a campaign with the slogan “Summer sunshine – apply summer sunscreen!” It was a refillable sun cream tube with a carabiner including a sun disk that shows you how long you can protect yourself from sunburn with which sun protection factor or the sunglasses
Safety at a glance!
In 2022, safety goggles were distributed and employees were able to take part in a competition as part of the safety campaign by taking and submitting photos of themselves with things or in situations that serve our safety.
Interactive employee communication 2.0
Since fall 2023, screens have been installed at specific Kirchdorfer Group sites, primarily in production halls or production employee break rooms. This installation enables direct communication with employees and serves to convey and focus attention on important safety issues.
Communication and interaction with our employees is extremely important to us. That’s why the majority of the screens have a touch function and regional adaptation to the respective location.
WORKERSCARE 20
As part of the “Workers Care 20” initiative and the LEO+S safety campaign, the topic of occupational safety is addressed in small groups for the employees of Kirchdorfer Concrete Solutions in Austria in around 50 individual workshops per year.
By actively addressing safety issues directly on site, employees and their families are not only spared suffering in the best-case scenario, but the individual companies also save themselves a lot of unnecessary sick leave in the long term. Time and attention are therefore well invested.
AUVA Prevention Day at the MABA site in Gerasdorf
Accident prevention – i.e. avoiding accidents at work and sick leave – was the focus of the first “Safety Day” held by MABA together with AUVA at the end of January 2023.
Long gone are the days of boring lectures and instructions – instead, together with AUVA experts, there was a whole course of test and exercise stations where the most important safety and prevention aspects could be trained and analyzed with the workers.
E-learning terminals with Safe.Pro®
In cooperation with the Association of Austrian Concrete and Precast Plants (VÖB), modern training documents were created and integrated into an e-learning platform. Instead of lengthy instructions and handwritten documents, we rely on digital learning units on individual topics with a subsequent test – and all of this at regular intervals.
Incidentally, the system not only knows who has already completed the new fire extinguisher training, for example, but also when the next examination is due for the welders. This means that the individual companies are always up to date when it comes to safety!
Information security
Data protection, integrity and constant availability are key protection goals for the Kirchdorfer Group. Information processing is becoming increasingly important in the construction industry. Smooth networking, both internally and with customers, suppliers and cooperation partners, is crucial to our success. We set internationally recognized standards for information security, because trust is essential.
At Kirchdorfer, information security is more than just an obligation – it is an integral part of our corporate culture. Our success is based on ensuring that information is always up-to-date, unaltered and treated with the utmost confidentiality.
Our goals & measures
To achieve our security goals and continuously improve the level of information security, we implement the following measures:
